Delete your BaoBao Talk account

You can delete your BaoBao Talk account and everything stored with it at any time. There is no waiting period and nothing to ask us for.
In the app
- Open BaoBao Talk and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to Delete account.
- Confirm. The account is removed immediately and you are signed out.
If you have already uninstalled the app
Email hello@baobaolab.tech from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete the account. We action it within 30 days and confirm by email.
What gets deleted
- Your account and email address
- Your name, if a name was supplied by Google or Apple sign-in
- All learning progress: lessons, review schedules, streaks and statistics
- Your bamboo balance
- Any memory images you uploaded
- Your device token for reminder notifications
What is kept, and for how long
Purchase and subscription records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, normally seven years. They are held against the transaction, not against a usable account, and they are never used to identify you again.
Aggregated analytics that cannot be traced back to a person, such as how many people finished a given lesson, are kept and are not affected by deletion.
Your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a BaoBao Plus subscription. Billing is handled by Google Play or the App Store, so cancel it there first, otherwise it keeps renewing. Cancel on Android in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions, and on iOS in Settings under your name, then Subscriptions.
